After meeting to the guide and other customers, let’s go to Kanchanaburi.

This is located 130km west of Bangkok, it likes an amazing combination between its natural landscapes and historical value.

You will go through River Kwai Bridge to visit The War Cemetery (Don Rak War Cemetery). This place has approximately 7000 graves of POWs (prisoner of war) who died during the construction of the Death Railway in World War II. You will hear real and emotional stories of prisoners in that tough period.

To learn more about Death Railway, you will move to JEATH War Museum. This museum was built in 1977, and its name JEATH stands for the primary nationalities involved in the construction of the railway such as Japanese, English, Australian, American, Thai and Holland. The museum is divided into two sections, one depicting the construction of the Death Railway which is meant to recreate the quarters used by Allied POWs, and the other consisting of reconstructed bamboo huts with items as paintings, drawings and photos of and by former prisoners, weapons, etc.

You will have a chance to experience the railway by yourself. On the train, you can observe with the most dangerous curving bridge which is built of woodenlog along the mountain side.

Besides the railway, River Kwai Bridge really was a nightmare with hundreds of people. Maybe you know River Kwai’s Bridge through “Bridge on the river Kwai” movie, which gained Oscar awards.

It’s time to have lunch and get enough energy for the interesting afternoon.

Kanchanaburi is also famous for beautiful waterfalls. You will come to one of them, Sai Yok Noi Waterfall (Khao Pung), the last destination of tour. It’s couple of kilometres from the end station of the historic Death Railway. The best time to go this waterfall is from June to July, when the water level is medium.

Tour ends. You will come back to your departure point.
